PERSONAL THOUGHTS: Feature Film "Pitbulls" - Written by Mike Kang

Film Director Mike Kang
Juggling work, study and filmmaking is a tricky one, one that I've struggled with for years. But...... As with anything, if its important enough, you will make the time. I've been busy filming some extra action scenes for the film as I've realised its needed to add that brutality I'm seeking to put on screen.

Of course, I hate violence on screen but it just feels right for this story. A rough cut is almost ready, co-working with our diligent editor Bonnie has been a real blessing.

The first feature film, Gossip Nation has sold to the Silverbird cinema chain in Africa - due for early December release this year. PD tells me the distributors are extremely happy with the product and have high expectation for the film. Ofcourse I don't share their opinions and prefer to leave it as good practice but if it works for them, I'm happy to support the profit of it.

In the mean time, spending time with lady friends have kept me content in ways filmmaking never could. There are times when I begin to question why I spent so much of time, energy and mental focus on improving my filmmaking skills instead of living a proper life in my early and mid 20's.

But.... I try not to live with regrets. I plan to spend the rest of this year wrapping up Pitbulls. Once I'm done with it I think I will spend more of time socialising, networking, learning some business side of filmmaking instead of getting out there with a camera and leading a team of society's silent misfits.
